East African Community Headquarters, Arusha, Tanzania, 11 March 2014: The launching and sensitization workshop on the EAC Sanitary Measures for Fish and Fisheries Products will be held in Mombasa Kenya from 12-14 March 2014 at Sarova White sands Resort in Mombasa, Kenya.
The 12-14 March 2014 workshop organized by EAC and Lake Victoria Fisheries Organization (LVFO) Secretariats in collaboration with the EU funded Smart Fish Programme based at IOC, Mauritius aims at creating awareness and train the trainers on Fish and Fishery Products sanitary measures in the EAC region and beyond and consequently pave the way for their use.
The workshop is expected to launch the EAC SPS measures for Fish and Fishery Products and sensitize the key stakeholders on the EAC SPS measures for Fish and Fishery Products, review the rolling plan of the EAC Sanitary measures for Fish and Fishery Products and distribute the EAC Sanitary measures for Fish and Fishery Products.
The workshop will bring together Rec’s Experts on fisheries, Directors of fisheries in the EAC Partner States, Officers in charge of sanitary measures, Stakeholders of fisheries sectors, Head of beach management units and Fisheries researchers.
The EAC Deputy Secretary General in charge Productive and Social Sector Hon Jesca Eriyo will grace the occasion.
